The Dallas Cowboys have "America's Team," and now C-SPAN has "America's Book Club."

It was announced today that C-SPAN is premiering a new Fall series called America's Book Club, which is a deep dive with American authors to explore "the ideas that shaped America's past, challenge the nation's present, and inspire our future."

The conversations will be hosted by David Rubenstein and will take place in various famous public libraries and landmarks (Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library, and the National Archives, to name a few).

Guests will include author John Grisham, Harvard University Professor and Historian Henry Louis Gates, biographer Walter Isaacson, and more.

Not sure who still watches C-SPAN in the year 2025, but the new TV series launches Aug. 25.

This Week in Publishing:

We are ending this newsletter how we started it this week.

As mentioned, Felicia Pride isn't just a Hollywood filmmaker, she is also the author of a brand-new novella called Come Close and it is out now!

Book Summary:

"A second-chance, later-in-life romance...

After years toiling in Hollywood, Amaya Ellis is finally directing her first feature film in her hometown, unexpectedly reuniting her with Kyrie Tate, her high school sweetheart, whom she hasn't seen in decades. He wasn't just the one. He was the standard.

But ambitions, dreams, and the world got in the way and their relationship fell apart. They lost touch. Moved on. Or so they thought.

As fate brings them together, they relive their own movie of their past love and find themselves creating a new story."
