This Week On Bookum:
At Bookum, we let the good times roll!
And by good times, we mean more Book Club announcements.
Without further ado… [cue drums] Who Better Than You by Will Packer will be the Bookum Book Club pick for February/March!
And to make things better… (last ellipsis, I promise 😆) THEE Will Packer will be joining our book club to discuss his book with us!
For those unfamiliar, Will Packer is the movie producer behind hits like Ride Along, Girls Trip, Stomp the Yard, Think Like a Man, and many more!
Synopsis:
"Whether you’re just starting or ready to make a major move, Who Better Than You? is a wildly entertaining roadmap to being successful in an unpredictable world, featuring behind-the-scenes Hollywood lessons, empowering guidance, and indispensable encouragement.
From Stomp the Yard to Ride Along to Girls Trip and many more, Will Packer’s films have collectively grossed more than $1 billion at the box office, with ten opening at number one! To outsiders, the unabashed confidence that has driven him since his college days—when he was trying to sell a micro-budget indie film—may look like arrogance. To Packer, that’s just what it took to make it on his terms."
The book comes out Feb. 17, but you can pre-order it today!
Pre-order here.
The date for March will be announced soon.

This Week in Publishing:
Take us home, Satchmo.
Playwright and author Imani Perry is back with a highly anticipated book: Black in Blues – A Book in Conversation with themes from Louis Armstrong's Song "(What Did I Do to Be So) Black and Blue."
Summary:
"Perry traces both blue and Blackness from their earliest roots to their many embodiments in contemporary culture, drawing deeply from her own life as well as art and history."
