Bookum in Atlanta: AWS Bootcamp, Stephen Curry, and the National Book Awards

Happy Thursday!
Like a master chef, we have a lot of pots boiling at Bookum.

Live look at our team building something special!
Next week (don't quote me), we should be announcing some exciting new updates!
Reminder: we will be talking with Robert F. Smith, founder, chairman, and CEO of private equity firm Vista Equity Partners, on his new book Lead Boldly: Seven Principles from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on September 30 at 11 AM EST. This will be a live conversation exclusively on the Bookum App, so make sure to mark it on your schedule and join us!
You will also be able to send in your question in real time on the Nook (on the chat screen).

This Week On Bookum:
Usually, we share about features, upcoming events, and more about what's going on at Bookum, but we figured we would share about our recent trip to Atlanta.
Bookum was selected (out of 800 applicants… not a big deal) to take part in a 2-day Founders Bootcamp hosted by Amazon AWS x Techstars Accelerator.
We were 1 of only 50 teams selected, and we worked with founders, business leaders, and industry experts in a high-impact business accelerator!
We received some great rewards to help grow Bookum, met some important people, and made some lifelong friends with other founders building in every industry you can think of!
I'll share some photos below:

We share this not to brag but to show our true appreciation to everyone who uses the Bookum App, reads this newsletter, starts a club, shares about us on social media, or literally just tells their book-reading friend, "Hey, you should download Bookum."
It truly means the world to us, and your support is what makes this community-driven, creator-led platform we are building so much fun!
This Week in The Book World:
The Book Super Bowl is on its way, and this week the playoff picture was set (read: the longlist was selected).
The National Book Awards has been the most prestigious literary prize in the country since 1950, and it just announced its 2025 longlist books in the following categories:
Fiction
Nonfiction
Poetry
Translated Literature
Young People's Literature
Here’s the longlist of selected books:

You know the drill. Just like the Oscars, you have from now until Wednesday, November 19 (the ceremony), to read as many of the books as possible so you can act surprised when your favorite book wins!
Start an NBA (no basketball) book club on Bookum today and read and discuss some of the books with your friends!
This Week in Publishing:
Speaking of a master chef, NBA, and awards, not too many people (read: no one) will be able to outshoot this week's book of the day!
4x NBA Finals Champion, 2x NBA MVP, NBA Finals MVP, and Olympic Gold Medalist Stephen Curry has finally released his highly anticipated book Shot Ready.
