Happy Pub Day!
And like that… we have entered the last month of the year (aka Mariah Carey's Christmas piggybank month).
Hope you all had a great holiday weekend and survived Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday with at least a few dollars left to your name (+10 to you if you bought books during that stretch!).

This Week On Bookum:
We’re beating Spotify and Apple Music to the punch this year.
A few weeks ago, we asked you all to send in your favorite books of the year in a few different categories, and from that…
The Creators' List of 2024 (aka our Wrapped) was born.
What’s the Creators' List?
From over 40+ conversations on Bookum this year (plus newsletter input), we have curated a list of the top books and authors of the year!
In categories such as Best Page-Turners, Most Thought-Provoking, Breakout Authors, and more, we created a list that speaks to the heart of the creators we connected with this year!
As mentioned in a past newsletter, our goal with the Creators' List is to be another prestigious book list that authors and creators will be honored to be part of for their great achievements. This list will come from the people who deeply engage with books year-round!
We will be rolling out the list over the next week or so, but as always, our people get the first glimpses!
Please note: not all these books were released in 2024.

This Week in The Book World:
(We took a week off for Thanksgiving, so imagine this happened this week…)
…Alright, so this week, the National Book Awards took place in the great city of New York (here’s the list of winners).
Winners: Percival Everett, left, and Jason De Leon, right
As exciting as the night was, even more exciting was the perspective of some of our book friends who were in attendance.
Whether it was Traci From the Stacks’ Ask Me Anything blog, Cree Myles’ play-by-play retrospective, or even Sarah Hildreth’s new reading intentions from her experience, the night was full of great moments.
We’ll attach them below for anyone who had FOMO:
This Week in Publishing:
Brandon Sanderson is back with the long-awaited climax to his epic fantasy series, The Stormlight Archive (Book 5).
Summary:
Titled Wind and Truth, Dalinar Kholin has challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare―and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray.
Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide―Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade. He is accompanied by Kaladin, who faces a new battle helping Szeth fight his own demons… and who must do the same for the insane Herald of the Almighty, Ishar.
If you’re a Sanderson fan, get ready for another book sure to delight!
Book is out December 6th.
