Mychal Threets Named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential Creators, Book Clubs and More!

Bare Bookery, Permission to Write, Your Local Book Club

Happy Wednesday!

Last week we made a pit stop in NYC, so of course we had to hit Strand!

Street bookstores will never get old.

Check out our latest Creators Talk Podcast with multifaceted and talented Khaya Fraites!

You may know her best from her work as Violet Sorrengail in the Graphic Audio of The Empyrean Series by Rebecca Yarros.

Along with being a voice actor, she is also a writer, director, and filmmaker. We discussed bringing characters to life, audio narration, and what it takes to be an actor!

Enjoy!

This Week in The Book World:

Ain’t no party like a library party!

**cues the motto**

WE SHOUTOUT CREATORS.

It was announced this week that the always inspirational Mychal Threets was named to Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2025.

So influential, I might add, that Mychal's post on Bookum actually got us to renew our local library cards too☺️

This year Time Magazine exclusively made a Top 100 list focused on content creators!

There's no better time to be a content creator, so make sure to share that book post, start that book club, and collaborate with one another. You never know where it might land you!

What bookish content creators should be on the list next year? Reply and let us know!

This Week in Publishing:

In the summer, one new book recommendation won't do.

Last month, we had the chance to talk with USA Today's Book Reporter Clare Mulroy, and she let us in on some of her favorite books growing up, what she's reading now, and what is coming up this year!

Everything from literary fiction to fantasy to dystopian. She's got the books for you!

Without further ado, here's her list (Add to your TBR on Bookum):

As always, if you enjoyed this week’s newsletter, please share it with others. Every share helps and keeps us growing!

Definitely share to a book content creator friend that might enjoy our newsletter!
