This Week On Bookum:

The app got some exciting updates this week!

First, we revamped video posting for a more seamless and intuitive creation experience. Post up to 30-second videos on the community feed!

Video now uploads in the background so you can continue to use the app.

Book Videos Look Great on Bookum!

Second, video nooks (video conferencing) got a fresh redesign. As mentioned last week, we added a real-time chat space with friends. In this new update, we made it more integrated into the video nook experience.

Lastly, we updated voting polls so that you can have multiple-choice options on your club voting and scheduling nook times!

Multiple Choice

Set Choice Limits and How long the poll runs!

We believe readers and creators should have tools that make conversations about books easier and fun. This new update should delight!

This Week in The Book World:

Creators come in all styles at Bookum, and this week we got news from the host of the UK's No.1 Podcast of 2023, 'The Diary of a CEO,' Steven Bartlett.

Bartlett is taking his podcast audience to the bookstore (or audiobook store) with his newly announced imprint Flight Books.

In partnership with Ebury, the imprint aims to "empower extraordinary voices" and will use an "AI-powered, data-first, growth-focused" strategy.

Additionally, the imprint will publish books from various esteemed guests from Bartlett's podcast.

The first book, "Hardest Geezer: Becoming the First Person to Run the Entire Length of Africa," releases October 24th.

Our Thoughts:

As the landscape of publishing continues to change (check out our interview with Publisher Brooke Warner), creator-economy moves like this make a lot of sense, especially for a podcaster like Bartlett.

This Week in Publishing:

Tomi Adeyemi is back with the last installment of the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy with Children of Anguish and Anarchy.

The book is said to be "earth-shattering" and an epic conclusion to Zélie's journey!

And just to fulfill our weekly sports reference quota, here's what the late Kobe Bryant said about Tomi's writing:

Add "Children of Anguish and Anarchy" to your TBR list on Bookum and get your copy today. Consider a local bookstore.
