The Rise of Book Content Creators Turned Authors

Nooks, Dune Book Club and More!

Happy March!

Happy first week of March, spring is right around the corner which means we are getting close to reading outside again!

Well, until then let's get started!

On Today's Shelf:

  • 📚 Nooks!

  •  📺 Book Content Creators turned Authors

  • 📖 Dune

This Week On Bookum:

We have had some exceptional Nook conversations over the past weeks!

For those unaware, on Bookum, you can start real-time audio rooms with your friends to talk about your favorite books, host author conversations, or even talk about things going on in the book world!

On February 13th, along with book content creators Raymond Williams and Cree Myles, we hosted an engaging conversation on the book King: A Life and last Tuesday, the Founder's Book Club hosted Black Enterprise's SVP/Editor-at-large Alfred Edmond Jr. in an engaging conversation about the Late Reginald Lewis!

Upcoming Nook conversations will be on Bride by Ali Hazelwood and A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams. If you are interested in joining either of those conversations, we will leave the form below so we can pick the best time!

However, you do not have to wait for us to start a Nook Conversation! Gather a few friends and start a Nook today! They are a blast!

This Week in The Book World:

Who said book content creators only read books and make passionate (or hateful) book reviews on the internet… We can be writers too!

This week, not one but two big book content creators announced that they are releasing their debut books!

Cindy Pham, better known as @withcindy, revealed to her 535K subscribers on YouTube that she is releasing "The Secret World of…"

She is being represented by Thao Le Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency.

Cindy didn't give away too much, but she did say, "This is a story that has lived in my mind for over a decade. The more I developed it, the more ambitious it became. I'm thrilled that someone as talented as Thao is working with me to bring this to life."

But wait there's more…

Morgan Pager, content creator behind @nycbookgirl and Marketing and Social Media Director at Atria Books, announced she is releasing her book "The Art of Vanishing" with Ballantine, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

In a statement to her Instagram followers, Morgan said, "I’ve been waiting my entire life to make this announcement. I’ve been a reader and a writer for as long as I can remember. And for almost as long, I’ve been obsessed with museums and magic and love stories. All of those things have come together to make The Art of Vanishing."

The rise of book content creators turning into published authors is only heating up, and we are excited to see this future from some content creators on Bookum as well!

I'll share their announcements below:

This Week in Publishing:

On this date in 1965, the original Dune novel by Frank Herbert was released… (Totally joking)

However, on Friday, Dune Pt. 2 did release in theaters, and that means it is time to dust off your 1965 edition and come join us to discuss Dune!

We have 6 books to talk about and a few movies to watch.

If you are interested in starting a Dune book club, bring your fandom to Bookum and we would love to join!

Track your reading progress and start your Dune Book Club today!

As always, if you enjoyed this week’s newsletter, please share it with others. Every share helps and keeps us growing!
