We’ve got an acquisition!
This week, it was announced that Molly Stern's Zando has acquired its first major literary press: Tin House.

For those unfamiliar with Zando, it’s an independent publisher launched in 2020, known for its high-profile imprints, including:
📖 SJP Lit (Sarah Jessica Parker)
📖 Gillian Flynn Books (Gillian Flynn)
📖 Get Lifted Books (John Legend)
📖 And many more—Zando currently has nine imprints in total.
What makes this acquisition unique? It’s the first time Zando has stepped outside of its celebrity-led imprints to acquire a literary press—with over 200 backlist and frontlist titles.
As you might remember from our conversation with publishing legend Kathleen Schmidt, backlists are where a lot of hidden gems live in publishing.
Founded in 2002 and based in Oregon, Tin House has long been a respected name in the literary world.
This is a big move for Zando, further cementing its place in the evolving publishing landscape.
